Do you know who is fitting your hearing aids?

When it comes to finding someone to help you with your hearing loss, there are many choices and several very important things to consider.

It is common for people to focus on the actual hearing aids rather than the person who is handling their hearing care.

The truth is that the person fitting your hearing aids is AS important, if not more important than the hearing aids themselves.

Some consumers are unaware of the difference between an audiologist and a hearing aid dispenser. While audiologists and hearing aid dispensers are both licensed to dispense hearing aids, there is a distinct difference in their education.

We staff only professional, university-trained audiologists!

An audiologist must hold at least a Master’s degree in Audiology. Recently the requirement to become an audiologist has changed to a Doctor of Audiology degree. Many Master’s level audiologists have chosen to further their education by obtaining a Doctoral degree.

On the other hand, hearing aid dispensers are not required to have any formal university education in audiology.

If you are considering buying hearing aids in St. Louis, or require testing services, please make sure you see an audiologist before making your decision. You will be glad you did!
